grooming a dog with completely matted fur

When Penny and I were at the vet's today so she could be admitted for her cruciate check-up, the vet nurse showed me the fur that was clipped off a poor little dog who came in for grooming recently.

The little dog had lived in its owner's backyard without any grooming! She didn't even brush it, and the fur was so matted the groomer had to take it all off. The vet nurse said that when the dog was bathed, it was ecstatic at the wonderful sensation.

Let's hope that unthinking owner will do better in the future.

It takes so little time to comb and brush your beloved friend and mom says it's a wonderful bond between furbutt and hooman. We get combed every single day and we don't mind it at all.

Love ya lots

Curator, I'd have loved to have seen the little dog!

Maggie and Mitch, Penny loves being groomed too. At least, I think so, because she comes from wherever she is when she hears me get down the grooming equipment.

JD loves being brushed (he's a bit of a lovie!) but Max hates it!! They have such different fur - JD's matts really easily but Max never seems to get tangled, which is just as well really we suppose! That poor little doggie though - fancy being SO matted that he enjoyed having a BATH - JD and Max are astounded, he he he!

JD is lucky he loves being brushed, if he is the one with the easily-matting fur, lol.
